The Centre Line

There is a sign inside one of the dojos where I train, upon which it is written:

中線集中

Roughly translated, it means “Concentrate on the centre line”.  This is a fundamental aspect of not just Aikido, but martial arts in general.

All the more appropriate that the sign was in the mens’ toilet.
